Week of January 18-22, 2016

WRITING AND SOLVING TWO-STEP EQUATIONS

This past week we learned about linear equations and how to write and graph them. The slope intercept formula was introduced, and we learned all about plotting points (rise over run).

On Friday we had a graph on the floor and you were the y-intercept and slope points. On Monday we will review the concepts from last week, and then we will move on to two-step equations. By the end of the week you will know how to write and solve two-step equations and how they apply to real world situations. This is the third week of the six weeks, and progress reports are coming up.

Please make sure attendance is a priority and you know exactly where to go to pick up any work you missed ( MIA board). I am so proud of the amount of work that is being turned in on time. Thank you and continue doing so, remember it benefits you to turn in work on time.

REMINDERS:
  • January 28th Science Fair 5-7 PM @MPC
  • Jan. 21st 7th Grade Presentation @ Paco Zarate Auditorium @9:45
  • Progress Reports January 26
  • Late work is 10 points per day
The video below is a great introduction to solving two-step equations.
