It's been quite the eventful year and I'm sure we're all glad for summer break to be here. I sincerely hope you enjoy your summer and that you come back ready to conquer 8th grade.

May 21-25, 2018

6th Week of the 6th Six Weeks!

2 more weeks!!!!!

First of all STAAR is over and we can finally let out a sigh of relief. SO YAY! 

Also, this week we will be participating in a field test study, so we are asking for no absences unless absolutely necessary.

We will be viewing Hidden Figures as a class and answering questions about the movie the remainder of the week.

STAAR TEST!!

MAY 14!!! MONDAY

The moment we have been preparing for ALL year is finally here! What a relief. 

I fully believe you will do great if you put your mind to it. I have done my job of passing on my knowledge to you, and it is up to you to use it.

GO OVER your benchmark and the cheat sheet I gave you.

Get a good rest on Sunday night, we are almost at the end of the road. I SEE THE LIGHT. :)

4th Week of the 6th Six Weeks!

We are 6 DAYS away from the MATH STAAR.

Please make sure you come to school. We are doing a whole bunch of REVIEW and it will definitely help you out if you are present, listening, and asking questions.

Week of April 30- May 4, 2018

3rd Week of the 6th Six Weeks

Starting this week we have exactly 10 days for review for our STAAR Test! 

The MATH STAAR will be on May 14! Make sure you are here for it.

Also, attendance is extremely important because the next few days will be intensive review and you can definitely benefit from it by being here. 

Hopefully we enjoy the movie on Friday and you have a restful weekend.

2nd Week of the 6th Six Weeks!

This week will be a 4 day instructional week because we have a field trip on Friday April 27!! Make sure you turn in your permission slip and the money.

We have 14 instructional days until the STAAR MATH TEST! 

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!!!

If you need help with a certain topic don't hesitate to come in during lunch I am always available (except Thursday -DUTY).

This week will cover the last couple of topics of financial literacy including personal budgets and net worth.

1st Week of the 6th Six Weeks!!!

The year is winding down, and this Monday we have our last practice test before the actual STAAR!

Make sure to get some rest remember that attendance is important!

Use your reference material, it will be your best friend during the test.

Also, keep in mind the incentives that come with getting a Masters level on the benchmark! :)

6th Week of the 5th Six Weeks!

This will be a hectic week with STAAR Writing on Tuesday and Reading Benchmark on Wednesday.

We are left with Monday, Thursday, and Friday for instruction. 

ATTENDANCE IS IMPORTANT! Please come to school.

The six weeks ends on Friday so make sure your grades are in by Monday. Last day to turn in late work/missing work/extra credit!!!

We will be going over samples and populations on Thursday and Friday.

We covered Volume and Surface Area this past week and are now going to jump into data! We will be learning about mean, median, mode, and range and apply that to the next lesson dealing with dot plots and box plots.

Week of January 29 - February 2, 2018

4th Week of the 4th Six Weeks!

We have just wrapped up the lesson for linear relationships and are moving on to solving and writing two step equations. Last year you were introduced to one step equations, so we're taking it just a bit further this year. 

I will introduce you to the do/undo method on Monday and have plenty of practice during the week.

A reminder that progress reports are coming up, which means TURN IN ALL ASSIGNMENTS!

3rd Week of the 4th Six Weeks!

Make sure you are keeping up with your assignments! I know this past week was a little hectic with students being sick and the weather being horrible, but we do need to catch up. If you need to come in during lunch to catch up you are more than welcomed to. Make sure to come in ready to do your work, and have the assignments ready to go.

We have been covering linear relationships and the first week of school we reviewed circumference and area of circles. We will have a mini assessment this week to determine how much we've learned, and then we will start with two- step equations.

2nd Week of the 4th Six Weeks!

What a great first week back! We had a great review of circumference and area of circles, and we have moved on to Linear Relationships.

This week we will continue learning more about linear relationships using tables, graphs, and verbal descriptions.
