MATH BENCHMARK This upcoming week you will be having your math benchmark, and it is very important that you do your absolute best. This test is your last warm up before the actual STAAR on May 9 (MONDAY). Make sure you rest up the day before and have a healthy breakfast the morning of. After the benchmark we have a few more lessons to cover, so please make sure you come prepared each and every day. This week you will be taking your Writing STAAR test, and I want to wish you the best of luck! You have been preparing for this all year, and you have all our support. The 8th graders will be taking their test on Wednesday, and we will be in the auditorium watching movies. You all deserve it! Make sure you turn in any late/missing work throughout the week. REMINDERS: Monday: Regular schedule (sleep early get a good breakfast) Tuesday: Report to your homeroom before 8 for breakfast, the test will start by 8:30 BRING A BOOK for after the test!!!!!! Wednesday: Movies in the auditorium Thursday&Friday: Regular schedule! ANY QUESTIONS ASK ONE OF YOUR TEACHERS (ME)
ASSESS AND REVIEW I hope you enjoyed your Spring Break and that you got plenty of rest. This week is going to be a short one, so we have to make the next 4 days count. We will be reviewing concepts that we've been covering for the past 3 weeks, and you will have an assessment on Wednesday. It related to circumference, area, and finding the radius/diameter of a circle given certain information.
SPRING BREAK!!! We are in the 3rd week of the 5th Six Weeks, and we have made so much progress! You and I both deserve this much needed break. I hope you enjoy this time with your family and that you rest up so you can finish off the year STRONG!
You will be having an assessment on Area of Composite Figures, Volume of prisms and pyramids, and also Total and Lateral Surface Area when you return. LATERAL AND TOTAL SURFACE AREA One more lesson before SPRING BREAK! Lateral Surface Area: is the sum of the areas of all its faces excluding the base of the solid. Total Surface Area: is the sum of the areas of all its face including the base of the solid. This week is going to fly by, so please make sure you come prepared and if you are going to be absent make sure to ask for the work in advance!
